Released in Japan on September 7, 2000, EX Billiards (known internationally as Real Pool) is a highly realistic sports simulation developed by Astroll for the PlayStation 2. The game features over 12 different pool games, including classics like 8-Ball, 9-Ball, and Rotation, as well as unique modes such as Carom and the hybrid Bowliards.
Players can compete against eight distinct AI opponents in a tournament mode or tackle a specialized Puzzle Mode featuring 25 uniquely shaped tables, such as stars and triangles. Noted for its authentic 3D physics and 360-degree table views, it remains a foundational billiards title on the platform and was later re-released under the budget "The Best TakaraMono" label.
