Return to Ecole Software's bizarre cult shooter series in Death Crimson 2: Melanite no Saidan, a Japan-exclusive Dreamcast light-gun game that expands dramatically on the original Saturn release. Released in Japan on November 25, 1999 and developed and published by Ecole Software, the game combines first-person shooting sequences with an adventure-style Story Mode in which players explore locations, investigate events, interact with characters, and uncover the mystery surrounding the Melanite altar and the Crimson weapons. The game also supports multiplayer shooting for up to four players.
Gamer Fact: The original Death Crimson on Sega Saturn became one of Japan's most infamous "kusoge," earning a cult following for its rough graphics, unusual controls, strange voice performances, and generally chaotic presentation. Death Crimson 2 leaned into that legacy while expanding the formula with a full Story Mode, adventure sections, multiplayer support, downloadable mission content, and even microphone functionality that allowed players to record their own short voice clips for use during shooting sequences.
What's Included:
- Original Japanese Death Crimson 2: Melanite no Saidan Sega Dreamcast GD-ROM Disc
- Original Japanese Dreamcast Jewel Case with Artwork
Compatibility Note: This is an authentic Japanese Dreamcast release. Original Dreamcast consoles are region-locked for commercial GD-ROM software, so this Japanese disc will not normally boot on an unmodified North American or PAL-region Dreamcast. Playing it on hardware from another region requires compatible region-bypass software, modified hardware, or another region-compatible setup.
