Final Lap

Take the grid in Final Lap, Namco's Famicom adaptation of its landmark arcade racing game. Released in Japan on August 12, 1988 and published by Namco, the home version was developed by Arc System Works and brings fast Formula-style racing to Nintendo's 8-bit console. Players compete against rival cars while managing speed, cornering, overtaking, and track position across a streamlined home-console interpretation of Namco's arcade racer.

Gamer Fact: The Famicom version of Final Lap was Arc System Works' first published game, years before the studio became famous for series such as Guilty Gear. It also uses Namco's advanced Namcot 163 cartridge hardware, making Final Lap the first Famicom cartridge game to use expansion audio through the mapper.

Compatibility Note: This is an authentic Japanese Famicom release. Playing this cartridge on an original NES requires an appropriate 60-pin-to-72-pin adapter or compatible hardware designed to accept Japanese Famicom cartridges.
