Formula One 99 (NTSC-J) for the PlayStation was developed by Studio 33 and published in Japan by Sony Computer Entertainment (SCEI) on October 21, 1999. It is the officially licensed game of the 1999 FIA Formula One World Championship, widely regarded as a major return to form for the series on PlayStation after the poor reception of its predecessor, Formula 1 98.
