Bring the arcade-style button-mashing action of Hyper Olympic and Hyper Sports home with the Konami Hyper Shot, a dedicated Famicom controller designed specifically for Konami’s athletic games. Released in Japan during the mid-1980s by Konami, the Hyper Shot replaces the standard Famicom controller layout with two oversized buttons labeled RUN and JUMP, allowing players to rapidly alternate inputs and recreate the intense timing-based controls of the arcade originals.

Gamer Fact: The Hyper Shot was created specifically to reproduce the distinctive control style of Konami’s Hyper Olympic series on home hardware. Rather than using the Famicom’s standard directional pad and face buttons, players hammer the large RUN and JUMP buttons for sprinting, jumping, and event timing. Konami later bundled the controller with certain Famicom releases, including Hyper Sports.
