Star Gladiator 2: Nightmare of Bilstein

Return to Capcom's futuristic weapon-based fighting series in Star Gladiator 2: Nightmare of Bilstein, the Dreamcast conversion of the 1998 arcade sequel to Star Gladiator. Released in Japan on December 9, 1999 and developed and published by Capcom, the game features a large roster of combatants armed with plasma swords, staffs, blades, and other specialized weapons. Battles combine fast 3D movement, launchers, aerial attacks, projectile techniques, and character-specific special moves as the fighters confront the returning threat of Bilstein.

Gamer Fact: Star Gladiator 2 introduced the Plasma Field system, a powerful special technique that traps an opponent when it connects and produces a different effect depending on the character using it. Outside Japan, Capcom renamed the game Plasma Sword: Nightmare of Bilstein, while the Japanese Dreamcast release retained the Star Gladiator 2 title.
