TearRing Saga

Released in Japan in 2001, TearRing Saga is a tactical RPG developed by Shouzou Kaga, the original creator of the Fire Emblem series. Set on the island continent of Lieberia, the game follows two protagonists, Runan and Holmes, as they lead separate armies to reclaim their homelands from the oppressive Zoa Empire.

It is widely considered a spiritual successor to Kaga's earlier work, featuring a familiar grid-based battle system, permanent character death, and an elaborate narrative filled with political intrigue and hidden side stories. While the gameplay mirrors classic Fire Emblem titles, it introduces unique elements like a dual-protagonist route split that allows players to exchange items and units between two distinct armies.
