Released in Japan on March 12, 1998, Zero Pilot: Fighter of Silver Wing (known in Japan as Zero Pilot: Ginyoku no Senshi) is a World War II flight simulation and action game developed by Marionette and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. Players step into the role of a Japanese fighter ace, piloting iconic aircraft like the Mitsubishi A6M Zero through 19 missions of intense aerial dogfights and defensive operations against Allied forces.
The game emphasizes a realistic 3D polygonal aesthetic for its time, featuring approximately 25 different historical planes and a first-person cockpit perspective to enhance the simulation experience. Although it remained a Japan-exclusive release, it is noted for its mission-based structure—complete with briefings and a hangar system—and its focus on authentic aerial combat mechanics.
