Blast through six fast-moving stages of mechanical enemies and massive bosses in Aero Blasters, the PC Engine conversion of Kaneko's arcade shooter Air Buster. Released in Japan on November 2, 1990 and published by Hudson Soft, the game is a horizontally scrolling shoot-'em-up built around speed, aggressive enemy patterns, collectible weapon upgrades, and a chargeable energy attack that can clear bullets and smaller enemies from the screen. The PC Engine version also supports simultaneous two-player cooperative play, a feature that was still relatively uncommon among home-console shooters of the era.
Gamer Fact: Aero Blasters began life in arcades as Kaneko's Air Buster. The PC Engine adaptation was produced with involvement from Hudson Soft, Inter State, and Kaneko, all three of which are credited in the Japanese version. One of its standout features was simultaneous two-player co-op, especially notable at a time when many well-known home shoot-'em-ups such as R-Type, Gradius, and Thunder Force were primarily single-player experiences.
What's Included:
- Original Aero Blasters Japanese PC Engine HuCARD
- Original PC Engine Jewel Case
- Original Japanese Instruction Manual
Compatibility Note: This is an authentic Japanese PC Engine HuCARD release. Japanese PC Engine HuCARDs are not directly compatible with a stock North American TurboGrafx-16 because the HuCARD and TurboChip interfaces use different pin assignments. Playing this game on an original North American TurboGrafx-16 requires a compatible HuCARD/TurboChip converter, an internal region modification, or modern hardware designed to support both Japanese and North American card formats.
