The Nintendo Famicom, also known as the Family Computer (FC), is an 8-bit third-generation home video game console that Nintendo released in Japan in 1983. It was well received and allowed players to play popular arcade games like Donkey Kong on their home television. The Famicom uses interchangeable cartridges and has had many model variants, including the New-Style NES, NES-101, NES 2, and Top-loading model.
