Raise one of the strangest virtual pets ever created in Cambrian QTS: Kaseki ni Natte mo, a bizarre and charming simulation game inspired by prehistoric life from the Cambrian period. Released in Japan on December 11, 2003 and published by Global A Entertainment, the game imagines that long-extinct Burgess Shale organisms have been rediscovered in the South Pacific and commercialized as unusual female pets known as QTS. Players raise them inside specially maintained seawater tanks, manage their development, communicate with them, and watch them evolve from small primitive forms into increasingly humanoid companions.

Gamer Fact: The QTS creatures are directly inspired by real organisms associated with the Cambrian explosion and Burgess Shale fossil record. The game's development system takes that scientific inspiration in a very strange direction: QTS hatch from eggs, grow through insect-like and small humanoid stages, and can eventually develop into full-sized human forms. How well the player manages their aquarium and communicates with them affects their growth and even the ending.
