DSvision

DSvision was an official, fully licensed multimedia download platform for the Nintendo DS. Developed by the company am3 in partnership with Dai Nippon Printing, the service launched exclusively in Japan in early 2008 as a way to turn the gaming handheld into a portable media player—a crucial move in the late-2000s era before smartphones became globally ubiquitous.

Users would log onto the official, now-defunct dsvision.jp web portal on their computers to purchase and download licensed digital media. Once downloaded to the PC, the files were transferred via the USB dock to the secure microSD card and slotted directly into the DS for on-the-go viewing
