Enter Cave's intricate world of alchemy, machinery, and overwhelming bullet patterns in Espgaluda, the PlayStation 2 adaptation of the acclaimed vertical arcade shooter. Released in Japan on June 17, 2004 and published by Arika, the game follows siblings Ageha and Tateha as they battle through waves of enemies using conventional firepower, defensive barriers, and the distinctive Kakusei system. Activating Kakusei consumes Spirit Stones while slowing enemy movement and bullets, allowing skilled players to manipulate dangerous projectile patterns and convert enemy fire into valuable gold for dramatically higher scores.

Gamer Fact: The PlayStation 2 version went well beyond a straightforward arcade conversion. Arika added an exclusive Arrange Mode with altered weapons, denser bullet patterns, and revised scoring mechanics, along with a detailed Simulation Mode that lets players configure starting stages, lives, Spirit Stones, gold, and other conditions for practice. Its Replay Mode also includes a Trace function that allows players to resume control partway through saved or included replay data, making it an unusually sophisticated training tool for a console shoot-'em-up of its era.

What's Included:

  • Original Japanese Espgaluda PlayStation 2 Game Disc
  • Original Japanese PlayStation 2 Case with Artwork

Compatibility Note: This is an authentic Japanese NTSC-J PlayStation 2 release. Original PlayStation 2 consoles are region-locked, so this Japanese disc will not normally boot on an unmodified North American or PAL-region PlayStation 2. Playing it on hardware from another region requires appropriate region-compatible or modified hardware.
