Famicom Mini Vol. 20: Ganbare Goemon! Karakuri Douchuu

Travel across a colorful version of feudal Japan in Famicom Mini 20: Ganbare Goemon! Karakuri Douchuu, the Game Boy Advance reissue of Konami’s original Famicom action-adventure. Released in Japan on May 21, 2004 and published by Nintendo, the game follows Goemon as he travels from province to province confronting corrupt officials, battling enemies, collecting money, and searching for hidden passages on his journey toward Edo.

The game mixes overhead exploration with action combat, shops, mazes, secret areas, and stage-based progression. Rather than simply running from left to right, players explore towns and countryside environments while gathering the passes needed to continue deeper into Japan.

𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁: The original Ganbare Goemon! Karakuri Douchuu was released for the Famicom in 1986 and helped establish Goemon as one of Konami’s signature Japanese characters. This Game Boy Advance edition was released as number 20 in Nintendo’s Famicom Mini series, which recreated classic Famicom games in packaging deliberately modeled after their original 1980s releases.
