Released in Japan on July 20, 2006, Garou Densetsu: Battle Archive 1 (known internationally as Fatal Fury: Battle Archives Volume 1) is a classic fighting game compilation for the PlayStation 2. This collection includes arcade-perfect ports of the first four entries in the series: the original Fatal Fury, Fatal Fury 2, Fatal Fury Special, and Fatal Fury 3: Road to the Final Victory.
As the fifth entry in Japan's Neo Geo Online Collection, this version is particularly notable for featuring online multiplayer via the KDDI matching service, a feature that was removed from the later Western releases. Players can experience the evolution of the series' signature two-plane battle system while enjoying modern quality-of-life additions like a training mode, color editing for characters, and the ability to toggle between original arcade and arranged soundtracks.
