Fighting for One Piece

Step into fast-paced one-on-one battles with the Straw Hat crew in Fighting for One Piece, a PlayStation 2 fighting game based on Eiichiro Oda's hugely popular manga and anime series. Released in Japan on September 8, 2005 and published by Bandai, the game was developed by Flat-Out and features full-sized character models designed to reflect the proportions and personalities of their anime counterparts. Players can choose from fighters including Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Sanji, Usopp, Chopper, Robin, Franky, Ace, Crocodile, Enel, Smoker, and Aokiji, each with unique attacks and special techniques inspired by the series.

Gamer Fact: Unlike several earlier One Piece console fighters that used heavily stylized or super-deformed character designs, Fighting for One Piece presents its roster with more proportionally accurate models based on the anime artwork. The game also includes then-recent characters such as Franky and Aokiji, making it a snapshot of the series during the Water Seven era rather than a retelling of that storyline.
