Take control of the Blaster Mark II Phoenix and fight back against an alien invasion in Final Blaster, Namco’s vertically scrolling shoot-'em-up for the PC Engine. Released in Japan on September 28, 1990 and published by Namco, the game sends players through seven stages spanning the Moon, deep space, and the enemy stronghold on planet Bosconian. The ship uses standard forward fire, upgradeable weapon pods, and a powerful charge attack that transforms accumulated energy into a blazing phoenix capable of tearing through enemy formations.
Gamer Fact: Final Blaster features an unusual adaptive difficulty system that changes the challenge of later stages depending on how well the player performs. It also uses dynamic scrolling, allowing movement up and down the screen to subtly alter the speed of the stage scroll, giving the game a more flexible feel than many other vertically scrolling shooters of the era.
What's Included:
- Original Japanese Final Blaster PC Engine HuCARD
- Original PC Engine Jewel Case with Artwork
Compatibility Note: This is an authentic Japanese PC Engine HuCARD release. Japanese PC Engine HuCARDs are not directly compatible with a stock North American TurboGrafx-16 because the HuCARD and TurboChip interfaces use different pin assignments. Playing this game on an original North American TurboGrafx-16 requires a compatible HuCARD/TurboChip converter, an internal region modification, or modern hardware designed to support both Japanese and North American card formats.
