Fujitsu FMT-KB105 JIS Keyboard

Complete an original FM TOWNS setup with the Fujitsu FMT-KB105, the full-size Japanese JIS keyboard designed for Fujitsu’s influential multimedia computer line. Released in Japan in 1989, the keyboard features a substantial desktop layout with 20 programmable function keys, dedicated Japanese text-entry controls, cursor keys, numeric keypad, and the specialized Execute key used throughout the FM TOWNS environment.

Built during the earliest years of the FM TOWNS platform, the FMT-KB105 uses Fujitsu’s distinctive key design and provides the extensive Japanese input controls expected from a high-end Japanese computer of the period.

𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁: The FMT-KB105 uses Fujitsu leaf-spring key switches rather than the membrane construction found in many later computer keyboards. It connects through Fujitsu’s distinctive 8-pin keyboard interface and was supplied with several early FM TOWNS systems, including the Model 2 and later 20F configurations.
