Hudson Selection Vol. 4: Takahashi Meijin no Bouken Jima

Return to Adventure Island in Hudson Selection Vol. 4: Takahashi Meijin no Bouken Jima, Hudson’s GameCube remake of the classic Famicom action game. Released in Japan on December 18, 2003, the game updates the original side-scrolling adventure with 3D graphics while preserving its fast, unforgiving platforming and simple jump-and-attack gameplay.

Players guide Takahashi Meijin across eight worlds as he attempts to rescue Tina, collecting fruit to keep his vitality meter filled while avoiding enemies, hazards, and instant-death mistakes. This remake also adds new features including a fruit-completion percentage, challenge modes built around no-miss clears, and bonus material such as the classic Hudson Shooting Watch and vintage promotional footage.

𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁: The original Adventure Island was derived from Sega’s Wonder Boy arcade game, with Hudson replacing the protagonist with its real-life celebrity employee Takahashi Meijin. The Hudson Selection remake preserves that uniquely Japanese version of the game rather than reverting to the Wonder Boy identity.

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲: This is an authentic Japanese Nintendo GameCube release. Japanese GameCube software is region-locked and does not normally play on an unmodified North American GameCube. It requires Japanese-region hardware or a compatible region-bypass solution.
