Released in Japan as Ganbare! Nippon! Olympic 2000, this Konami sports classic for the Nintendo 64 was officially licensed by the Japanese Olympic Committee to celebrate the Sydney 2000 Summer Games. Players compete in 12 intense events, including the 100m dash, long jump, and pole vault, using the series' signature rapid-button-pressing mechanics. The game is highly regarded for its precision controls and challenging "Career Mode," where athletes must be trained to reach peak performance. While the Western version, International Track & Field 2000, was notoriously limited to a Blockbuster rental-only release in North America, the Japanese version was a standard retail title, making it a much more accessible way for collectors to own a physical copy of this arcade-style experience.
