Kaido Battle 2: Chain Reaction

Tear through Japan’s legendary mountain passes in Kaido Battle 2: Chain Reaction, Genki’s touge racing sequel built around nighttime street battles, tuning, drifting, and rival challenges. Released in Japan on February 26, 2004 and developed and published by Genki, the game expands on the original Kaido Battle with new mountain courses including Akagi, Aso, and Zao. Players can tune a wide range of Japanese performance cars, compete in multiple battle formats, challenge rival drivers, and earn money and parts to build increasingly specialized machines for technical downhill and uphill runs.

Gamer Fact: Kaido Battle 2 introduced additional race formats beyond the original game’s SP and CA battles, including FL Battle, where the goal is to overtake a rival driving ahead of you. It also includes a Sound Editor that lets players rearrange and compose music, a surprisingly deep extra feature for a street-racing game.
