Step into the ring with Rumble Roses, Konami’s all-female wrestling game built around flashy presentation, arcade-style action, and a roster of distinct personalities. Released in Japan on February 17, 2005 and published by Konami, the game was developed by Yuke’s together with Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo. Players can grapple, strike, counter, taunt, and perform signature wrestling moves across standard matches and the game’s infamous mud-wrestling mode, while character alignment and match performance can influence alternate costumes and presentation.
Gamer Fact: Rumble Roses was developed by Yuke’s, the studio behind many of the era’s major professional wrestling games, while Konami focused heavily on high-detail character presentation. Contemporary coverage noted that individual wrestler models used more than 10,000 polygons, which was unusually ambitious for a PlayStation 2 wrestling title at the time.
