Sonic Adventure 2 Battle

Sonic and Shadow collide in one of Sega's most popular 3D adventures in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for the Nintendo GameCube. Released in Japan on December 20, 2001 and published by Sega, the game features two complete story campaigns, Hero and Dark, with players switching between Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Dr. Eggman, and Rouge across high-speed platforming stages, treasure-hunting missions, and mech-based combat. The GameCube version expands on the original Dreamcast release with enhanced multiplayer content, upgraded Chao features, and additional character and gameplay options.

Gamer Fact: Sonic Adventure 2 Battle was an expanded GameCube conversion of Sonic Adventure 2, which originally launched on Sega Dreamcast in 2001 as part of Sonic's 10th anniversary. The GameCube release significantly expanded the two-player Battle mode and also added Chao Karate, while connectivity with a Game Boy Advance and Tiny Chao Garden allowed players to transfer Chao between systems. It was also one of Sega's earliest major releases on Nintendo hardware following Sega's withdrawal from the home-console business.
