Super Robot Spirits

Released in Japan on July 17, 1998, Super Robot Spirits is a 3D fighting game for the Nintendo 64 that features iconic mecha from the Super Robot Wars franchise. Developed by Banpresto, the game departs from the series' traditional tactical RPG roots to offer one-on-one combat in expansive 3D arenas. Players can pilot legendary robots such as the RX-78-2 Gundam, Shining Gundam, and Daitarn 3, utilizing unique special moves and "Spirit" commands to gain an edge in battle. While it remains a Japan-exclusive, it is a significant title for mecha fans as it was one of the few attempts to bring the crossover energy of the Super Robot series into a real-time fighting format.
