Thunder Force Gold Pack 1

Return to Technosoft's classic shoot-'em-up series with Thunder Force Gold Pack 1, a Sega Saturn compilation containing Thunder Force II MD and Thunder Force III. Released in Japan on September 27, 1996 and developed and published by Technosoft, the collection brings two of the series' most important Mega Drive entries to the Saturn on a single disc. Thunder Force II MD combines overhead free-roaming stages with side-scrolling combat, while Thunder Force III focuses entirely on fast horizontal shooting, switchable weapons, powerful CRAW support units, and large mechanical bosses.

Gamer Fact: Thunder Force Gold Pack 1 keeps the original Mega Drive gameplay largely intact but adds new Saturn-era extras, including a CG opening sequence, arranged music stored as CD audio, and a Kids Mode that reduces difficulty by weakening enemies and making death less punishing. The Gold Pack releases also helped reintroduce the series to Saturn players before the arrival of Thunder Force V the following year.

What's Included:

• Original Japanese Thunder Force Gold Pack 1 Sega Saturn Game Disc
• Original Japanese Sega Saturn Jewel Case
• Original Spine Card / OBI Strip

Compatibility Note: This is an authentic Japanese Sega Saturn release. Original Sega Saturn consoles are region-locked, so this Japanese disc will not normally boot on an unmodified North American or PAL-region Saturn. Playing it on hardware from another region requires an appropriate region-bypass cartridge, compatible modified hardware, or another region-compatible setup.
