Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy

Uncover the secrets of an ancient civilization in Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy, the concluding chapter of the series' prequel trilogy. Released in Japan on February 28, 2013 and developed and published by Level-5, the game follows Professor Hershel Layton, Luke Triton, and Emmy Altava as they investigate reports of a mysterious "living mummy" discovered frozen in ice. Their search soon becomes a globe-spanning expedition aboard the airship Bostonius as they pursue the truth behind the ancient Azran civilization and the strange girl at the center of the mystery.

Gamer Fact: Level-5 originally promoted Azran Legacy as Professor Layton's "final adventure" and described it as the final chapter of Hershel Layton's story at the time of release. The series later shifted focus to Katrielle Layton before Level-5 announced Professor Layton's return in Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, currently scheduled for release in 2026. The game also offered more than 500 puzzles when its year-long Daily Puzzle download series was included alongside the puzzles found in the main adventure.
