Valkyrie no Densetsu (Game Only)

Embark on a colorful fantasy adventure in Valkyrie no Densetsu, Namco’s PC Engine conversion of its acclaimed 1989 arcade action game. Released in Japan on August 9, 1990 and published by Namco, the game follows Valkyrie as she journeys through forests, deserts, caves, castles, and other dangerous regions while battling monsters with her sword and a growing arsenal of magical attacks.

The PC Engine version is not a simple arcade conversion. Stage layouts were reworked, the order of several areas was changed, new sections were added, and a password system was introduced to make the adventure better suited to home play.

𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁: The PC Engine release includes content and structural changes unique to the home version, including new stages, a different stage order, password support, and an alternate ending sequence. That makes it a distinct version of Valkyrie no Densetsu rather than just a scaled-down port of the arcade original.

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲: This is an authentic Japanese PC Engine HuCARD release. Japanese PC Engine HuCARDs are not directly compatible with a stock North American TurboGrafx-16 because the HuCARD and TurboChip interfaces use different pin assignments. Playing this game on an original North American TurboGrafx-16 requires a compatible HuCARD/TurboChip converter, an internal region modification, or modern hardware designed to support both Japanese and North American card formats.
