Players assume control of a mischievous young boy named Tarosuke, who has been sent to hell as punishment for his everyday bad behavior and must fight his way through five ghost-infested realms of the afterlife to face judgment. Swapping standard weaponry for magical spirit bursts and the ability to summon a powerful ghost entity named Monmotaro at prayer shrines, the game famously paths players through multiple moral branch points that mechanically calculate your behavior to trigger one of five completely unique, text-driven endings.
